Shoulder pain getting real bad

Try a couple exercises to loosen the shoulders before workout. Pendulum swing. Circle swing holding a 5-10 pound weight. Shoulders cannot be blasted heavy every shoulder day. It’s a mobile muscle group. Try volume training more for shoulders. I do shoulders intense training once every 2 weeks. Test of the time volume 60-70% of heavy day weight for 13-18 reps. If you aren’t sure what I’m talking about youtube has the above shoulder exercises to watch. Good luck!

I do these at least twice a week, usually more, along with lateral cable shoulder pulls going both directions. For the static holds and the front arm pulls, I do two sets with 35lb. DBs. For the lateral shoulder cable pulls, I usually use 15-20lbs. and do three sets of 20 in each direction. Finally, I’ll do 40 shoulder circles, 20 in each direction. This routine takes me about 15-20 minutes and I’ll follow it with three or four sets to failure on the rear delt machine. That is my warmup routine for a dumbell chest day. It’s the only way my shoulders can take it.

Not if were in the same place im coming back and im coming for the biggest spot at the old folks home.
You me and @Poppy will be patients and @NeuroRN and his wife will be the nurses will all just train all day lol

Don’t blame you on the break.

Your advice is priceless. I took a walk down memory lane as an example to others and pulled up your post (back at me) where you advised against anything other than trt until i get my diabetes under control. You, @NeuroRN and. @Bigmurph and others I can’t recall at the moment probably very well saved me from an extremely shortened miserable life.

Thank you if I hadn’t said it before.

Hey brother quick question how do you work around the shoulder pain when working upper body. I’m thinking going multiple times a week for 30 min session hitting hard might work? I usually hit it hard for 1 1/2 hrs And l lift light with more repetitions and still get excruciating pain. I will not give up lifting. Thanks bro

You have any experience with this @TBU ?

My biggest thing was proper shoulder warm up pendulum swings. Figure 8s. Also dumbbells only. That way you can change the angle and depth to range of motion. Deep tissue massage on shoulders and rest. The more you push. The longer it takes to heal.
