Experience with Ashwagandha

Does anyone here use or have experience with Ashwagandha?
It is supposed to increase Testosterone and reduce Cortisol.
After using it for a few weeks I do feel more calm and less stressed.

It’s some kind of herb.

Healthy male subjects (aged 18-50), with limited training experience, were randomly assigned to receive a daily dose of either 300mg of ashwagandha root extract or placebo for 8-weeks. During those 8-weeks, subjects were also put on a 3-day/week resistance-training program. [Total testosterone levels] in the ashwagandha group increased, on average, by 15.25%.

In placebo, the increase was only 2.6%. But the really interesting results came in the form of strength gains. The ashwagandha group increased their bench press 1-RM by an astounding 138%. In placebo, the increase was 84%. Leg extension 1-RM for the ashwagandha group increased by 52%, compared to placebo whose increase was 38%.

@steme I’ve been using it for about 2 years now. I’ve tried a few different ones, but what works best for me is the trademark form KSM-66. I used the brand Jarrow. I typically take one 2x a day, Which is 600mg. Most of the research I’ve read with KSM-66 was done At 600 mg a day. Ultimately I just feel better I have a more positive mood when I use it. I don’t know how it’s affected my testosterone levels because I’m always Testosterone. I would be curious to see if it does change my blood work, but I would need to establish a baseline without it to know. If questions let me know. I’ve tried many different brands and researched a lot of the different ones. And they’re definitely are better ones than others. And better ones for different goals.

@Bigmurph no not like that study. I mainly take it to help with stress and “natural energy.” It can be helpful with the adrenal glad for a person that using too much stims and stress can take a big toll on the adrenal glad too. I only found out about a year ago it could be helpful for boosting test level. Now all the OTC Test boosters are using it in their products.

I had to flag this post because the link sells a product.
If you want to copy and paste the information from the article then you can but I can’t allow unapproved links that sell products.

I take Ashwaganda. I’ve been taking it for about 6 months, and that was around 3 months after I started trt. I don’t cycle it or anything like that. What I can say is personally I had some shrinkage after I started trt. The boys swelled up some, noticeable but nothing super significant. However, my load is like straight from a cannon and there’s rarely a morning I don’t have wood like a petrified log. When the wife was around she made a few comments about it as well. The important thing is to get the KSM-66 version. I tried a cpl brands but the ones with KSM-66 is the one you want. The bottle says 600mg a day but I do 900mg. Its 3 pills I take 3 times a day, or if I forget I take 2 at night before bed. You can prolly split it however you want. Another thing to note is it takes a cpl weeks to “build up” in your system. But man by about 2 - 2 1/2 weeks I noticed a difference. Idk if I’m just taking a shit ton and don’t need to, but it’s been working for me. I did 600mg once a day at first for about a month but when I bumped it up and split the dose I had some real noticeable results. I’m no medical professional and I don’t have any blood work to back up my claims but I just wanted to share my experience. Idk if it wld work for PCT or not, but some countries use it as a fertility “drug” instead of something like Clomid. Just my 2¢.

I literally just went into GNC to see if they had any due to this post, first thing guy said was I love that shit takes about 2 weeks to kick in but once it does your worry free. Grabbed me a bottle it’s GNC brand but says it has the ksm-66 patent forumula

Remember brother he gets paid in commission
but members have said its good if you don’t like it let us know and we will post the brand in the do not use section. I hate sketchy dietary supplements and gnc is full of them let

Bigmurph is right, GNC is a little sketchy. HOWEVER; if you don’t feel anything after 2 weeks that doesn’t mean another brand won’t work for you. I tried 3 or 4 different brands until I settled on one in particular. Idk if its ok to post what brand I use unless its cool with @Bigmurph.

I checked out the GNC brand KSM-66 Ashwagandha. Personally I would not trust that shit, only bc there is not nearly enough information on the bottle to know the concentration % or the withanolides, or the Withaferin A content. I will explain all this below.
  1. You want to make sure its ROOT extract. You DO NOT want the leaf extract, its usless, and in some cases can be harmful as I will explain below. The magic is in the root, not the leaf.
  2. Withanolides: You want a concentration OVER 2.5% but BELOW 25%. There is a plethora or information as to why this is true that I can’t go into without some extreme detail but the bottom line is basically too little or too much can be ineffective for our purposes. A withanolide concentration of 8-15% is optimal for stress, mood, and the boys.
  3. Withaferin A: is cytotoxic (Cytotoxic drugs can kill cancer cells but they can also damage normal, healthy cells as is evidenced by the side effects of most chemotherapy drugs. Exposure to cytotoxic drugs has been reported to cause increased frequency of chromosome damage in exposed workers. They can cause acute skin, eye, and mucous membrane irritations, as well as nausea, headaches, and dizziness. If you experience any of these symptoms throw that shit away.) Withaferin A is found in high concentrations of products that use the leaves. As I mentioned above, the leaves are NOT what we want. We want the ROOT and only the ROOT. The lower the withaferin A concentration the better.
  4. Concentrated Extract: You can get products with low concentrated extract that still say 300 or 600mg, but you may only get 300 or 600mg. The product I use is a 10:1 so 600mg is like 6000mg. You basically get more bang for your buck otherwise you would have to take like 10 pills for the shit to work.
  5. Full-spectrum extract: I’m just going to copy and paste bc I can’t explain this one very well, but in a nutshell full-spectrum extract keeps the natural synergies present in the root. “A “full-spectrum” extract is an extract which maintains the balance of the various constituents as in the original herb, without over-representing any one constituent like, say, the withanolides. KSM-66 is a full spectrum extract different from other hydro-alcoholic extracts because its innovative extraction process does not upset the delicate balance of various constituents found in crude ashwagandha root; rather, it retains and potentiates the synergism in the whole root.” This is why the KSM-66 version is the one we are looking for. It uses the root, the whole root, and nothing but the root.
And just remember it is apoptogenic, meaning your body has to adapt to the supplement over about a period of 14-18 days. Kind of like the way TEST E works. So if after 2 weeks you feel nothing and don’t notice anything in the man parts, it could be bunk.

TL;DR
What to look for:
  1. ROOT extract. NO leaf.
  2. Withanolides: OVER 2.5% and UNDER 25%. 8-15% is optimal.
  3. Withaferin A: HIGH CONCENTRATIONS BAD
  4. Concentrated Extract: the higher % the better. 10:1 is good.
  5. Full-spectrum extract: KSM-66 ONLY.
I hope this helps and stay safe brothers and sisters!

You can post all 4 brands names just no links or telling members where they are able to purchase it everyone just needs to do there own research.

Thanks brother for asking before posting I really appreciate it

Also that’s a great post brother if you know alot about this stuff id like to read everything you know I actually have never heard of this before yesterday so it has me really interested and im reading things but nothing I consider real life or legitimate just sales stuff.

The only brand I can remember was the Walmart brand Spring Valley and it did next to nothing but give me a stomach ache. I tried 2 others but I can’t remember the names. I’ve been on the same one now for almost 4 months.

Now I use:
Tribe Organics KSM-66 Ashwagandha Ayurvedic Superherb

600mg per 2 caps
KSM-66 Full Spectrum Root Extract
5% Withanolides (prolly why 3 caps a day works for me)
less than 0.1% Withaferin A
10:1 Concentration
