Conquering Insulin Resistance With Fasting

Same here lol. 30 seems a little much but if it’s working for you then keep at it. I know I’d want to
Kill everyone

This is actually something I grew up doing in the Caribbean, it actually isn’t tough at all. It’s more of a mental barrier for most people, responsible fasting is incredibly healthy and rejuvenating. Plus like TG noted, you still have plenty of energy through that fast if you work your way up to it . I might have to get to doing this often, always felt healthier when I did fast.

I’ve done all sort of variations of IF. Once you get used to it, it really is awesome. Takes a little bit and discipline is key. Those hunger pains at the beginning are a real bitch though. I mixed IF with Keto for a month last year and lost 10lbs. Those hard to lose ones. Felt great too. Def works.

This is exactly what I’m doing. Well strict carnivore diet now and IF. I think I’m going to settle for a 5-6 hour window to eat (alternating days) then 1 full 24 hour fast weekly as John recommends in his videos. Those stubborn areas I used to get off DNP just melted away the past few weeks.

So basically Paleo and IF? I’ve done that as well, but didn’t quite have the success as I did with Keto and IF. Glad it’s working for you man. Can’t say I ever got to that 5-6 hour window and rarely did I ever do a 24hr fast, but I think when I get closer to my cut phase I’ll be tossing that in. Thanks for bringing this up actually. It’s a reminder I need to get my knowledge back up to speed on it to prepare.

Not really. Paleo allows for fruits and vegetables in the diet. Keto allows carbs under x amount as long as your in ketosis. Carnivore is strictly meat, fish, etc. No carbs whatsoever. High fat like keto so your encouraged to buy fattier cuts of meats and eat those rather then leaner cuts. You stay in ketosis without having to watch your carb intake at all.

Oh ok, gotcha. Wasn’t sure how strict it was, but damn. No carbs at all? Seems tough. Are you still building muscle and what not, or is it more of a maintenance diet? I’ve never gone that hardcore, but can see it’s benefits as well.

Building is slower. But strength is up. I’m not looking be huge anymore. More about overall health and strength. I never contributed getting IBS from bodybuilding but john discusses that it happens to some bodybuilders. There was a period I could eat anything and stuck in bathroom half the day. So a lot of medical and blood work and trial and error. My doc even recommended fasting for 3 days at that time. Living on keto for a bit it all went away. Then getting into IF I was able to eat more foods that used to upset my stomach and was fine. But I never felt as good as I do on carnivore. Zero bloat. Hardness all the time. I think my body went thru changes but carnivore and IF both work for me so why not just change my lifestyle to that as my main. Of course with the 24 hour fast like john recommends.

Interesting. I going to do some research on this for sure. Sounds like something that could work for me. I can’t hang at all with protein shakes. I mean any. I’ve tried everything and I’m in the bathroom pretty quick after that and my insides are totally F’d every single time I drink one. protein bars too. So I have to do everything basically with real food. So sounds like this would work really well, just like keto and paleo did for me, but maybe even better. I definitely want to get bigger than I am, but not BB big. I have no issue with slow grow as long as the bf stays down and what not. lean gains 🙂

That kind of strong? nice. I doubt I’ll ever get there. Don’t think these old bones can handle that kind of weight regularly.

Yeah when I started I went with keg tosses and pulling loaded trucks to pulling semitrucks. Honestly that’s what I think is fun. You see something and think “can I move or lift this?”. Now I see a plane and think can I fucking pull that and if so how far. Your whole body hurts but feels like everything is getting worked out. Feels amazing.
