Swollen Knee/Quad/Calf

Hey guys,

Last Thursday I injected 300 mgs/3 MLs of Primo in my right quad. I used alcohol wipes and sterilized everything. I went a bit lower in the quad, maybe an inch or two above my knee (on the outside my my quad) No pain or PIP, and then Saturday I started having some pain at the injection spot.

Yesterday the pain was still there, and I noticed last night that my lower quad was a bit swollen, along with my knee and calf. Around the injection side it is tender to the touch, and warm with a light pink hue. No other pain anywhere else other than pressure when trying to bend my leg around my knee.

Went to Urgent Care today just to rule out an infection, but they were worthless saying just go to the ER. Trying to avoid that, and hoping it just swollen due to the PIP and injecting lower than I normally do.

Has anyone had a similar issue, or any feedback?

Cheers!

That’s a lot of juice pretty low brother.

I’ve had an infection from a quad pin and it settled in my knee. Doc gave me some meds and cleared right up.

Sounds like an infection to me. Draw a circle around it and see if the redness spreads outside the circle. Could just be you hit a vessel just right but hard to tell without seeing it. Is it warm to the touch?
I personally never pin quads for that exact reason. Dave Palumbo had warned me years ago about that.

Hard to get an accurate photo - I can’t post them in the message. But here they are

Right leg is the one in question if you can tell

And look at those sexy legs… LOL
