I wonder if my tall ass would get this called depth

I’m no powerlifter but I wouldn’t call that a full squat for me. Same as I’m not impressed by bouncing bars off the chest lol. To each their own I guess,

Yeah atleast. You have to pause on bench but the damn super arch kills me. I’m still impressed as even putting 5 times body weight on you back is impressive

Not sure if that should count or not. Should be a minimum travel distance to count. I argue that with my buddy all the time. He looks like a T-Rex. Sure he can bench 315+ all day long but the bar only has to travel 2 freaking inches lol

@Poppy , from what I’ve seen in my career lifting, world records seem to get a lot of forgiveness on depth, pause, hips coming through, etc

So you saying don’t train for depth just to get to world record numbers. On it

No, not saying that. Always train to do it right. However if you look at a lot of videos of world records, you will notice one trend as everything got heavier and heavier, a lot of gimmies. Especially when you get into the bigger names, all the federations want to be associated with big names and world records.
I watched a 275 raw lifter in an SPF meet many years ago squat 1000+, however the guy who hosted the meet failed to certify all his plates prior to the meet, so SPF says test them after… old boys 1000+ raw squat becomes a 960ish pound raw squat, no longer an SPF record. After a nice 30 min meeting amongst themselves, the SPF rep for the particular state this meet was in says “record stands, weights were good.”
